The three key themes of Rev. Wilhelm Bernoulli-Preiswerk’s famous collection of historical brass instruments and drums that was bequeathed to the museum in 1980 are spelled out in the title: «Parades, Marches and Signals». The exhibits from all over Europe illustrate how instruments have evolved and diversified over the centuries. They range from simple natural instruments to complex musical instruments, from instruments used for relaying military signals to those used for outdoor marches and parades.
